The Division of Pediatric Surgery and Pediatric Trauma at Weill Cornell Medicine deals with a full range of pediatric surgical procedures and focuses on the unique physiology and anatomy of the young patient.

As one of the top pediatric health providers in the country — in partnership with NewYork-Presbyterian, the #1 hospital in New York, according to U.S. News and World Report — we provide expert and comprehensive treatment in numerous specialties.

The division is a major referral center for complex and rare gastrointestinal disorders in infants and children.

Our physicians treat the full spectrum of gastrointestinal disorders in older children, including the diagnosis and treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease, intestinal motility disorders, inflammatory bowel disease, diverticular diseases in children, hepatobiliary disorders and malrotation.

In addition, our highly skilled and specially trained endocrine surgeons have expertise in Single Incision Pediatric Endosurgery as well as other laparoscopic techniques which allow us to treat complex neonatal and pediatric gastrointestinal, esophageal and hepatobiliary conditions with essentially scarless surgery.

We are also involved with NewYork-Presbyterian’s Perinatal Center, which allows us to counsel, treat and plan the operative correction of the full spectrum of neonatal congenital anomalies in conjunction with our perinatologists and neonatologists while the infant is still in the womb.

Regardless of our patients’ needs, all our pediatric programs are staffed with experts in treating infants, children and adolescents. Our programs integrate the expertise of pediatric anesthesiologists, pediatric radiologists, pediatric gastroenterologists, neonatologists, perinatologists and other surgical subspecialists who work collaboratively to coordinate a fully integrated plan of care.
