The Department has outstanding expertise in endocrine cancer, with basic research efforts, for example, focused on the molecular differentiation of benign and malignant thyroid nodules.
Within the research division, investigators are interested in studying the genetic and epigenetic basis of human cancer. For this, we use zebrafish as a model organism to engineer specific malignancies and test the interactions of genes and pathways.
